Albedo So-bin Ver. 1/6 Scale Figure Review

Today, I’m going to introduce a very sweet, attractive and sexy figure, Albedo So-bin Ver. 1/6 Scale Figure, which comes from the well-known Japanese anime, Overlord. Frankly speaking, the reason why I noticed this figure is not from its anime series, but that this figure is more attractive than the character in the anime series, at least for me. It puts away the antic expression on a side but infuses with strong femininity for the figure. Although this is the reason why Albedo So-bin Ver. Scale Figure go into my eyes and wants to be shared with you all here, it does not mean that the origin anime series is not worth to be appreciated. From the below paragraphs, I will show you how attractive is this figure in details with the origin anime series as background for your reference.

Anime Series Overview

Overlord is a light novel series written by Kugane Maruyama. At first, it was published on the web. From 2012 onward, physical novel version was officially launched.

Later on, the first comic series, Overlord, was published in January 2015 while the second, Overlord Oh the Undead, was published in July 2017. The two series are still in serial now.

As for the anime series, there was three TV seasons broadcasted in July 2015, January 2018 and July 2018 respectively. For the newest fourth TV season, it will most likely be broadcasted at the end of 2020 or early 2021. This series also launched two sets of theater version in 2017 namely, The Movie Edition Overlord The Undead King and Overlord Dark Heroes.

About the background of this anime series, it has a bit similar to another famous series, SAO (Sword Art Online) that both worldview of the anime are in a cannot be logged out online game starting their adventure. However, the subsequent development is quite different. The story of Overlord is in 2138, a popular virtual reality online game calls YGGDRASIL is scheduled to be shut down after 12 years of operation. In order to witness the moment of service shut down, the protagonist, Momonga, logged-in the game and quietly waited for the moment. However, as the game strangely cannot be logout after shut down, Momonga embarks on his adventure in this different world.

Albedo is one of the NPCs of the game who is responsible for overseeing the Floor Guardians. She is a beautiful woman with long shining jet-black hair and a pair of eyes of golden pupil and black angel wings. She wears a low-cut long white dress with gloves seems so elegance. However, the original setting of Albedo is a bitch. Another contradiction is that Albedo is a succubus who has hidden dark personality. The role setting is so special!

Sculpting Work

The illustration of novel version Overlord is beautifully created by Mr. So-bin while the sculptor, Akabeko, perfectly reappeared the soul of character in figure form. When you appreciate it in details, you will discover how meticulous is the black angel wings. Each feather of the wings is as detailed as it was made independently. The entire pair of wings are carved with layers and at the same time a little messy. Just like the real ones. Besides the black angel wings, Akabeko also sculpted the water-like soft long jet-black hair perfectly.

When you turn the focus on her off-shoulder sweater ruffle miniskirt, you will realize how Akabeko used the carving technique to demonstrate the texture of the clothes as well as the ruffle pattern.

Of course, the pair of knee-high gladiator heels cannot not to be mentioned. Akabeko sketched such a complicated fashion and carefully added a delicate bow to the high heels as an embellishment. It’s amazing!

Paintwork

There are not many color combinations for this Albedo 1/6 Scale Figure, mainly black, white, blue, yellow, grey and skin color. However, the painting skills of the painter, Tourmaline Gorilla, are still quite worthy of attention. Just like, the spiderweb pattern on knee-high gladiator heels, the skull pattern ribbon on the thick & crooked horn of her right temple and also the lake blue nails and feet. Those of these can reflect Tourmaline Gorilla’s craftsmanship and earnest manner.

Posture

Standing with straight breast and tighten abdomen is a typical posture of female wearing high heels. Albedo 1/6 Scale Figure is exactly presenting this implicit female beauty. The pair of black angel wings not only do not destroy the beautiful female posture of Albedo but also highlighted her mystery. What a delicate match! Meanwhile, the gesture of her left hand and the somewhat puzzled and surprised look made her more feminine and attractive than in the anime. Do you feel the same?

Appearance

For appearance of this figure, it is no doubt you have to take a look on the mix and match of Albedo’s sexy off-shoulder sweater ruffle miniskirt and the knee-high gladiator heels.

Have you ever seen any off-shoulder sweaters in reality shorter & low-cut than this one? The sweater is extremely low-cut that impossibly but hangs on Albedo’s body. It exposes almost upper-half of her breast. It is hard to imagine how cosplayers can hold this sexy sweater without shoulder straps, just like Albedo, even if their breasts are as big & firm as her! However, the miniskirt that cannot be further shorten should not be a problem.

High heels have always been a symbol of sexy in many people’s mind while spiderweb pattern knee-high gladiator heels in black additionally gives out intrepid & mystery feeling. Put it on Albedo is ideally matched with her powerful and mystery characteristics. Also, it really makes Albedo sexier and has greater femininity!

Overall Comment

Albedo So-bin Ver. 1/6 Scale Figure is no doubt completed at very high-level. Regardless sculpting, paintwork, posture and appearance, every part of the figure permeates sincerity of the team and shows respect to the illustrator, Mr. So-bin. Personally, I love this figure more than average and rank 9.5 out of 10. Maybe you will query where is the 0.5? I would say the waist of Albedo is comparatively not slim enough, even though a loose belt is put on her. I just imagine the issue might be solved if turn it to be a cast-off figure and take off her sweater. Wow! What do you think?
